Home » Ernest & Celestine with Benjamin Renner

This week sees the DVD release of the beautiful animated film Ernest & Celestine, based on Gabrielle Vincent’s books about a musical bear and an orphan mouse who become friends. The film is an absolute treat for adults and children alike.

We spoke to French director Benjamin Renner during a visit to London and asked him about his experience of bringing Vincent’s much-loved books to the screen.

Check out the video to see Benjamin talk about directing his first feature-length animation, the humour & emotion of Ernest & Celestine, the influence of Japanese animation, whether there will be any more Ernest & Celestine films, working with his co-directors, and what he’d like to do next..

Ernest & Celestine is on DVD from 27 May 2013.
