The Dark Matter crew landed this weekend at MCM London Comic Con and we had a chance to catch up with Melissa O’Neil, Jodelle Ferland, Roger Cross & Zoie Palmer to chat about the first season of the Syfy show and what we might look forward to in season two. Check out our full interview with the cast below!
Adapted by former Stargate writers Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie from their own comic book series, Dark Matter follows the crew of a derelict spaceship who awaken from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board. Facing threats at every turn, they have to work together to survive a voyage charged with vengeance, betrayal and hidden secrets. Following its 2015 debut, Dark Matter has been renewed for a 13-episode second season, due later this year.
Canadian Idol winner Melissa O’Neil plays ‘Two’ on the show, a master fighter and the crew’s de facto leader; Jodelle Ferland (Silent Hill, The Cabin in the Woods) plays ‘Five’, a girl with an affinity for technology and a knack for getting into trouble; Roger Cross (Continuum, Arrow) plays ship’s pilot ‘Six’, an imposing figure whose tough exterior hides a heart of gold; and Lost Girl‘s Zoie Palmer plays ‘The Android’, a wry humanoid robot who acts as the primary interface with the ship’s systems.
Dark Matter Season 2 starts Monday 4th July, 8pm on Syfy.
