Top 5 Raunchy Teen Comedies

Everyone loves a raunchy teen comedy so to celebrate the DVD release of The To-Do List, we’re having a look at our five favourite raunchy teen comedies to ever hit the big screen.

1. American Pie (1999)

There’s no way this list could start with anything other than the 90s classic, American Pie. About four pals who make a pact to lose their virginity by prom night, the film introduced us to the likes of Jason Biggs, Seann William Scott, Tara Reid, Alyson Hannigan and co and gave us countless LOLtastic moments. You just need to hear the words “Stiffler’s mom”, “band camp” or “apple pie” and you’ll instantly think back to some of the most infamous scenes that have lead to countless sequels and spinoffs.

2. Porky’s (1982)

It’s safe to say that Porky’s is the film that started the raunchy teen flick trend and it’s not hard to see why it’s still one of the best out there. Set in the 1950s, the film was definitely guilty of dancing on rather blurred lines as a group of boys who aim to lose their virginity spy on the female locker room showers through a peephole. Tsk tsk.

3. The Girl Next Door (2004)

When a porn star moves in next door, straight-A high school student Matthew (Emile Hirsch) find his whole life and goals turn upside down as they begin an unlikely romance. With the return of her producer and ex-boyfriend, life suddenly gets complicated and Matthew is soon ruining his chances of getting into his dream college as he does all he can to keep her away from her profession.

4. Fast Times At Ridgemont High (1982)

Based on Cameron Crowe’s real-life experiences after he went undercover at Clairemont High School for Rolling Stone, the film is a classic coming-of-age teen comedy. In fact, in 2005, it was selected for preservation in the US National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”. Not bad, eh? Starring A LOT of actors who went on to become big names including Sean Penn, Nicolas Cage, Forest Whitaker and Jennifer Jason Leigh, this flick was an instant classic.

5. The To-Do list (2013)

While there have been countless raunchy comedies, The To-Do List is one of the first to show teen girls also being blasé and gross when it comes to sex.
Set in 1993, the film focuses on a sexual awakening that was happening for teenagers BEFORE they had full access to the internet. The film is able to go into a lot of graphic detail because Brandy (Park and Recreation’s Aubrey Plaza) goes for it in a purely academic way, making it even more hilarious.

The To-Do List is available on DVD and Blu-ray now.
