The Scottsboro Boys with Julian Glover

On 18 October, Kander & Ebb’s Tony-nominated musical The Scottsboro Boys has its UK premiere at London’s Young Vic theatre.

Now, you’ve heard of Chicago and Cabaret, also by the legendary musical creators; but what’s this show about?

Set in 1931, The Scottsboro Boys follows the trial of nine young African-American men who find themselves accused of a terrible crime after boarding a train in Scottsboro, Alabama.

A daring production directed by 5-time Tony Award-winner Susan Stroman, The Scottsboro Boys has already received rave reviews in the US, and looks set to do the same during its 18 October to 21 December run in London.

Flicks And The City caught up with one of the show’s stars, Julian Glover, who tells us why it’s so exciting to be part of this musical, what makes the story so important, what audiences can expect, why he enjoys treading the boards, and much more! Check out our video below.
