The Imitation Game is based on the real life story of Alan Turing (Benedict Cumberbatch), who is credited with cracking the German Enigma code. The film will be premiering at the London Film Festival portrays the nail-biting race against time by Turing and his brilliant team at Britain’s top-secret code-breaking centre, Bletchley Park, during the darkest days of World War II. Turing, whose contributions and genius significantly shortened the war, saving thousands of lives, was the eventual victim of an unenlightened British Establishment, but his work and legacy live on.
The Imitiation Game has already racked up Oscar buzz after its showing at Toronto Film Festival and also stars Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Mark Strong, Rory Kinnear, Charles Dance, Allen Leech and Matthew Beard.
The Imitation Game is in UK cinemas on 14 November 2014.
