Following on from our chat with writer-director Gareth Evans at the premiere of The Raid 2: Berandal, Flicks And The City also caught up with the film’s stars and composer.

Check out the video to see Iko Uwais (Rama) and Julie Estelle (Hammer Girl) chat about working on The Raid 2: Berandal compared to The Raid: Redemption, how much more punishing the action was in The Raid 2, what it was like playing Hammer Girl, how working with Iko helped Julie with her martial arts, the film’s drama, shooting the car chase scene and the prison fight in the mud scenes, their war wounds from filming, what they’d like to see happen in the third part of the trilogy, whether we’ll see Julie in the final movie; and their next movie with Gareth Evans & Timo Tjahjanto, The Night Comes For Us.

Watch our video to see Arifin Putra talk about his big fight scene in The Raid 2 which they shot for 10 days, recovering from the film’s punishing action scenes, how director Gareth does the rough edits for the film on set, how he thinks audiences will react to this movie, the difference between The Raid 2 and the original film, his character in the film, whether we’re likely to see him in The Raid 3, filming secret scenes, and what we can look forward to next from him next.

Yayan Ruhian tells us how making The Raid 2 with Gareth Evans compared to making The Raid and Merantau, what he enjoys most about playing Mad Dog, and he also shows us some of his signature moves:

Oka Antara tells us about working with director Gareth Evans, being at Sundance, what we can expect from his character in The Raid 2, and whether we’ll see him in The Raid 3:

The Raid 2 composer Joe Trapanese chats to us about co-scoring The Raid 2, working with composers based in Indonesia, challenges, what audiences can expect from the new score, scoring the drama and action, working on the car chase and prison fight scenes, what he’d like to see happen in The Raid 3, meeting Iko and Yayan for the first time after composing the film’s music, and Joe’s next film projects.
