Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll director Mat Whitecross brings his latest film Spike Island to this year’s BFI London Film Festival.

A coming-of-age tale, the film follows a group of teens in a band as they try to score tickets to the Stone Roses’ 1990 gig at Spike Island.

Check out the video to see Mat chat about recreating the buzz of a live gig on the big screen, crashing festivals, and working with Michael Winterbottom and Andrew Eaton.

Spike Island screens at the LFF on 11, 13, and 14 October.

The 56th BFI London Film Festival runs from 10 to 21 October 2012. Click here for more details.
