Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss’s modern-day take on Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic stories struck a global chord from its very first season, winning a raft of fans, critical acclaim and awards for the show and its stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman.

Now that The Empty Hearse, the first episode of season 3, has aired in the UK, here’s our interview with Miss Sutherland, actress Elizabeth Coyle.
