After its success at the Toronto Film Festival and SXSW, the super-scary and savagely funny horror flick You’re Next is set to land in UK cinemas on 28 August, with a premiere screening at the brilliant FrightFest horror festival on 22 August. So, what’s You’re Next all about? A lively reunion is abruptly brought to an end when a gang of killers, disguised in animal masks, wage an all-out assault on a family’s secluded home. But neither the attackers, nor their victims, counted on the presence of a girlfriend with the killer instinct to fight back…

Flicks And The City caught up with the star of You’re Next, Sharni Vinson, who told us how her athletics and dance background helped her kick ass on set, how inventive she is in real life compared to her ingenious on-screen character Erin, how she’d cope in Erin’s situation, and whether she’d investigate strange noises in the attic.

Sharni also chatted to us about why she’d like to take on the role of Lara Croft and remake the Tomb Raider movies, why she enjoys physical roles, what she’d say to Joss Whedon about starring in an Avengers movie, and why she’d like to kick ass as Elektra in a superhero comic book movie. Check out the video to see what Sharni had to say:
