Home » Power Rangers gets Summer 2016 Release Date

Lionsgate has announced a release date for its upcoming Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers reboot. The film will be released on 22 July 2016. This is the confirmed US release date, but it’s expected that it will be the same for the UK. Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur is the only other film currently occupying this release date.

The Power Rangers reboot will hope to replicate the success that fellow 90s property Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is having at the US box office.

Not much is known about the Power Rangers reboot yet, and it is still without a cast or director, though writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stenz (X-Men: First Class and Thor) are on board.

Roberto Orci (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Star Trek Into Darkness) is in place to Executive Produce, alongside Haim Saban, Brian Casentini, and Allison Shearmur.

Orci has told IGN that it won’t be a “leave-it-behind reboot” and hinted at cameos, saying “I’d love to know what the fans want to see.”

We caught up with Paul Schrier and Jason Narvy AKA Bulk and Skull from the show, to get their thoughts on the reboot and possible cameos.

We also caught up with Johnny Yong Bosch AKA Black Ranger Adam Park to get his thoughts.

Lover of superhero movies and (nearly) everything Pixar have made, I get a bit obsessed by the awards season and try to see everything nominated for everything. Worshipper at the church of Tommy Wiseau.

Forever getting annoyed at people in the audience at cinemas.
