Home » Sundance: God’s Pocket Interviews with Philip Seymour Hoffman, Christina Hendricks & John Slattery

The film world lost one of its greats this year with the untimely death of Philip Seymour Hoffman. A supremely talented actor who will be remembered by film-goers the world over for his versatility and remarkable skill of disappearing into roles, Hoffman was at this year’s Sundance Film Festival to support two films including God’s Pocket, the directorial feature debut of Mad Men star John Slattery.

Flicks And The City were at the film’s premiere and spoke to Hoffman, co-star Christina Hendricks and writer-director Slattery about the film.

Philip Seymour Hoffman talks to us about what attracted him to God’s Pocket, what it was like working with first-time feature director John Slattery, how it reminded him of his first behind-the-camera experience, his experience filming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2, and what he felt about being part of such a big series of movies:

Christina Hendricks chats to us about what it was like being directed by Mad Men co-star John Slattery on God’s Pocket, how it compared to working on Mad Men together, if it got them in the right place for shooting Mad Men again, and what it was like working with Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Christina also talks to us about being directed by her Drive co-star Ryan Gosling on How To Kill A Monster, working with Charlize Theron on the thriller Dark Places, and what we can look forward to from the final season of Mad Men:

Mad Men star John Slattery tells us about the experience of writing and directing his first feature film, directing his Mad Men co-star Christina Hendricks on God’s Pocket, shooting Mad Men season 7, and working with Philip Seymour Hoffman and Richard Jenkins:
