Home » Paddington – From Page to Screen

StudioCanal have released a lovely new featurette to stoke our excitement about the new Paddington film which is released in the UK on November 28.

The clip, called From Page To Screen, shows hope much the filmmakers revere Michael Bond’s creation – they talk about how they’ve used the original drawings of Paddington as the starting point to their digital version. One of the things I really like about the clip is that is uses images from the books intercut with bits from the film so you can see just how faithful they are being.

The clip also includes interviews with leading cast members Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters and Nicole Kidman who talks about why she loves the little bear from Peru. Plus it features a few scenes from the early footage I saw a couple of weeks ago – including Paddington taking to the sky!

I have to say my excitement for this film continues to increase, especially as it seems the film’s producer, David Heyman, and director, Paul King, seem to ‘get’ what it is we all love about Paddington. I can’t wait to see the final film next month!

Paddington will be making his first big screen appearance in UK cinemas from November 28th 2014
