Nathalie Emmanuel on GoT & The Killing Woods
She may be in Croatia filming season 4 of Game of Thrones, but Flicks And The City were lucky enough to grab some quality time with actress Nathalie Emmanuel recently via Skype to chat about her audio book debut in Lucy Christopher’s The Killing Woods and, of course, her role as Missandei in GoT seasons 3 and 4.
Set in contemporary England, The Killing Woods is described as a dark, gripping novel that tells the story of a daughter whose father is accused of murdering a teenage girl.
With the help of the victim’s boyfriend, she sets out to clear her father’s name by investigating what really took place that night.
The book — said to be one of the most anticipated releases of 2013 — has been released simultaneously as a print edition and AudioGO audiobook, published by Chicken House.
Check out our video to see Nathalie tell us all about recording her new audio book The Killing Woods, the book’s appeal, why she loves listening to audio books, and how acting in a sound booth compares to acting on set.
Nathalie also chats to us about her Red Wedding reaction, shooting her favourite scenes with Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys, speaking Valyrian with Kraznys, the freeing of the Unsullied, season 3’s Valar Morghulis moment, acting with dragons and green screen, how shooting season 4 has compares to shooting season 3, and filming in Croatia and Morocco.
Make sure you stay tuned right to the end to hear Nathalie’s brilliant Ygritte impression!
