Home » Matthew Lewis, Luke Treadaway & Rowan Athale on The Rise

If you’re looking for a smart, stylish film that’s brimming with great on-screen chemistry between its leads, then look no further than The Rise, which is in UK cinemas, on VOD & iTunes now, and on DVD and Blu-ray on 30 September.

An assured feature debut from writer-director Rowan Athale, the Yorkshire-set film follows a heist planned by Luke Treadaway (Attack The Block) after a year spent in prison. Along with mates Matthew Lewis (Harry Potter), Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) and Gerard Kearns (Shameless), Treadaway wants revenge on the local gangster who set him up and landed him inside. But when Treadaway’s caught, it looks like the lads are out of luck…

Flicks And The City caught up with Luke, Matthew and the film’s writer-director Rowan to find out how they achieved such great on-screen chemistry, what it was like filming in Yorkshire, how Luke got his northern accent spot-on, and whether they’re ingenious enough to pull off their own heist! Check out the video below to see what they had to say!

And don’t miss our interview with Iwan Rheon & Gerard Kearns on The Rise & Game of Thrones!
