AMC have released the first promo for their (unimaginatively titled) Walking Dead spin-off, Fear the Walking Dead, following the first sneak peek we saw during the Walking Dead Season 5 finale.
In it, we see a man running for his life, but it’s only when the name of the show appears at the end that we can guess what he’s running from.
Fear the Walking Dead takes place at the time of the apocalypse just breaking out (ie when Rick Grimes was in his coma on the main show), but this time we get to see what happened in Los Angeles instead of Atlanta. It’s set to show us what the world looked like as it was turning into the apocalypse of The Walking Dead.
The man running in the trailer is Nick (Frank Dillane), who is joined in the cast by Ruben Blades, Mercedes Mason, Cliff Curtis, Alycia Debnam-Carey and Kim Dickens. It’s created by Dave Erikson and The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman.
The 6-part first season will air in the US in August, and a second season has already been greenlit. It’s expected to air around that same time in the UK.
