Home » Jurassic World: Are You Ready For The Re-opening?

It was over 20 years ago that the original Jurassic Park film arrived into cinemas and dinosaurs took centre stage. After over 10 years since the previous movie, the park will re-open next month with a new cast and a threat larger and more dangerous than before.

2424_TP_00150RThe official synopsis tells us that the original island from the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar is up and running as a fully functional dinosaur theme park. After 10 years of operation and with visitor rates declining, a new attraction is created to spark new visitor’s interests. However, when the new dinosaur goes rogue and begins to kill for sport, it’s a race against time to stop the creature before it kills everyone on the island.

After coming off a hugely successful 2014, Chris Pratt will take the lead, playing Owen, a trainer who’s able to communicate with the dinosaurs and from the looks of the trailer, also leads a herd of them to try and defeat the newest hybrid dinosaur who’s trying to kill everyone. Said hybrid dinosaur goes by the name of ‘Indominus Rex’; and appears to be smarter, faster, stronger and a lot bigger than any other being on the island. It’s only been teased in the trailers so far but from what we’ve seen, it’s certainly something that’s got us very excited!

Bringing a touch of glamour and female presence to the film is Bryce Dallas-Howard, playing the role of Claire Dearing, a park manager and from what can be seen from the trailer, 2424_TP_00130Rthe person who pushed for the creation of Indominus Rex. It’s fair to say she probably regrets that decision, when the beast escapes from its enclosure, gets rid of its own tracking device, and starts on a rampage killing its fellow dinosaurs and finally setting its sights on park guests.

Kicking the summer blockbuster season off, Jurassic World is sure to benefit from the advances of CGI and special effects since the last outing in the franchise. Even though the original players (Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum) aren’t present in the film, Chris Pratt’s charisma and star quality, and the lure of a new film in the franchise are sure to make the box office come alive.

Jurassic World is in cinemas across the UK from June 11th.
