Home » Judith Owen & Harry Shearer’s Holiday Sing-Along

Whether you’re a Christmas lover or a die-hard Scrooge, the multi-talented husband and wife team of singer-songwriter Judith Owen and actor-comedian-musician Harry Shearer have just what you need to get your festive season off to a great start this year.

Kicking off at London’s Leicester Square Theatre on 30 November, and continuing with dates throughout the US (details under video below), Judith & Harry’s Holiday Sing-Along is an evening of music and mirth featuring an array of guests including actress Maureen Lipman, comedian Rob Brydon, king of acoustic bass Danny Thompson, singer-songwriter-keyboardist Charlie Wood, jazz vocalist Jacqui Dankworth, Barry from Watford aka the superlative Alex Lowe, and many more.

Flicks And The City welcomed Judith & Harry into the studio this week to find out more about their good old-fashioned Christmas knees-up, plus what we can look forward to from them both next!

Check out our video to see Judith & Harry chat about what you can expect from their 2013 Holiday Sing-Along; their amazing guests; how their Sing-Along show began; how the evening will raise money for the Red Cross Philippines Relief fund; US and London show dates; what The Simpsons’ Reverend Lovejoy would have to say about the Sing-Along’s crap prizes and lewd behaviour; their favourite songs from the show including 12 Days of Christmas, Jesus Was A Dreidel Spinner, Spinal Tap’s Christmas With The Devil, and Judith’s song Dancing Tree; and what they enjoy most about working together on stage.

Judith & Harry also reveal who does the best impression of Huffington Post founder Arianna Huffington, the inspiration for their online show What’s With Honey Poo Poo?, and if we’ll see any more Honey Poo Poo videos.

Plus, they tell us about how they’d describe each other’s on-stage performing style; Harry’s new song about Mayor of Toronto, Rob Ford; what we can expect in 2014 for Spinal Tap’s 30th anniversary; and if we can look forward to a Spinal Tap reunion.

Harry reveals what Mr Burns, Ned Flanders, and TV reporter Kent Brockman from The Simpsons would think of their Holiday Sing-Along.

Judith chats about her recently released single White Christmas with Julia Fordham, proceeds from which go to the Red Cross Philippines Relief fund, and their music video with comic actress Jennifer Coolidge; her new album Ebb & Flow (out April 2014), and her 2014 tour.

Harry talks to us about his new TV comedy series Nixon’s The One on Sky Arts (out Jan 2014); the weirdest thing he discovered about Nixon when listening to the former President’s White House tapes; Nixon’s relationship with Henry Kissinger; and a possible West-End run of the hit play Daytona with Maureen Lipman.
