Home » Iwan Rheon & Gerard Kearns on The Rise & Game of Thrones

If you’ve watched our interview with Luke Treadaway, Matthew Lewis and writer-director Rowan Athale, you’ll already know that British film The Rise is well worth catching in UK cinemas, on VOD and iTunes now, and on DVD and Blu-ray from 30 September.

Just to recap: The Rise is set in Yorkshire and follows a heist planned by Treadaway (Attack The Block) after a year spent in prison. Along with mates Lewis (Harry Potter), Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) and Gerard Kearns (Shameless), Treadaway wants revenge on the local gangster who set him up and landed him inside. But when their fearless leader’s caught, it looks like the lads are out of luck…

As well as speaking to Luke, Matthew and Rowan, Flicks And The City also grabbed a chat with Iwan and Gerard who told us who was the biggest joker on set, their favourite heist and buddy movies, why The Rise stands out from other heist movies, perfecting Yorkshire accents, and getting the right on-screen chemistry.

Iwan also tells us about his Red Wedding reaction, what his Game of Thrones character Ramsay would have made of the RW, who Ramsay’s taking tips from these days, and whether Iwan will ever be able to eat a sausage again after *that* scene in season 3!

Check out the video below to see what Iwan and Gerard had to say!
