Gareth Evans Talks V/H/S/2 & The Raid 2

The UK’s premier horror event FrightFest is currently in full swing at London’s Empire Leicester Square, with five days of fiendishly fun films splattered across the big screen.

Among the movies keeping horror fans entertained this year is found-footage sequel V/H/S/2, which follows a pair of private investigators who break into the home of a missing college student, uncovering a collection of mysterious videotapes that reveal four horrifying films.

Director Gareth Evans (The Raid) chatted to Flicks And The City on the red carpet about his Indonesian-set V/H/S/2 chapter, Safe Haven, about a documentary team’s attempt to interview a cult leader.

Check out the video to see what Gareth had to say about the inspiration behind Safe Haven, working with co-director Timo Tjahjanto, and what he would have done in the documentary team’s shoes!

Gareth also tells us what to expect from his martial arts action movie The Raid 2, including car chases and the bone-crunching-est injury on The Raid 2 set, whether we’re likely to see him direct an action-packed superhero movie, and what we can look forward to from his English-language movie debut.
