The Potterverse crosses paths with a medieval bestiary in JK Rowling’s latest creation, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.
Fantastic Beasts opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob (Dan Fogler), a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt’s fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.

By the way, I saw the movie in IMAX 3D and it was amazing to see those beautiful sets and effects on such a huge screen with the fantastic beasts flying out of the scene towards me!
Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is in UK and US cinemas today!
I loved the film and my favourite beast had to be the Demiguise, I thought he was adorable. I agree about Eddie Redmayne being perfectly cast and I’m eager to see how the character develops over the next four movies.
So glad to hear you enjoyed the movie so much, Angela! Loved Demiguise and Niffler too! 🙂
