Home » Emma Watson, Logan Lerman & Cast at Noah European Premiere

After presenting his new film Noah at the world premiere in Mexico City, Darren Aronofsky and the cast of Noah next travelled to Berlin for their European premiere. Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Ray Winstone and Douglas Booth all attended the premiere. The ladies stole the show that night, Jennifer Connelly going for a classic look wearing a black velvet dress with a thigh-high slit and Emma Watson in a floor-length chiffon dress with nothing but a bow at the back.

For many of the cast Noah wasn’t the first time they had worked together. Emma Watson and Douglas Booth modeled for a Burberry ad campaign in London in 2009, where they bonded over their love for acting. Though they never expected to act together, a couple of years later their friendship on set surely added to the telling of the biblical story.

While the biblical story of Noah is relatively short, Aronofsky’s screenplay is more than two hours long – and on an epic scale. From shooting on location in Iceland to the scale of the production as a whole, the actors were most impressed with the set of the ark itself. The set designer’s built the wooden boat to the actual size of the ark that is revealed in the Bible.

At the Berlin premiere, even the movie theatre resembled Noah’s ark, with wooden timbering all around the walls of the cinema. “It says ‘zoo’ there, so it’s kind of perfect”, Douglas Booth said, pointing at the name of the movie theatre. And indeed, the premiere of Noah, a film featuring not only a great cast, but also a ton of animals, was fittingly held at the ‘Zoopalast’ movie theatre, located right beside the famous Berlin zoo.

Flicks And The City spoke to the cast on the red carpet about their work on Noah and what audiences can expect from the film.

Emma Watson tells Flicks And The City, what it was like to work with Patti Smith, how she enjoyed her work as a guest-editor on Wonderland Magazine and what she would still like to accomplish in the future.

Logan Lerman talks about his work on the film and why he thinks Darren Aronofsky was the right person to tell the story of Noah.

Noah will be released on the 28 March 2014 in the US, in Germany on 3 April 2014, and in cinemas & IMAX across the UK on 4 April 2014.

  • It is interesting that Logan Lerman is starring in this WWII movie, since he is Jewish and both sides of his family were persecuted by the Nazis for being Jewish.
