Home » Allen Leech talks In Fear, Downton Abbey & The Imitation Game

With In Fear in UK cinemas on 15 November, Flicks And The City caught up with Allen Leech to find out more about the brilliant psychological horror which freaked us out so much at this year’s FrightFest.

Starring Allen Leech, Alice Englert (Beautiful Creatures) and Iain De Caestecker (Agents of SHIELD), the film follows a young couple as they try to find the remote rural hotel De Caestecker has booked as a surprise on their way to a music festival. But what starts out as a normal car journey soon takes a more worrying turn as the pair get lost in a maze of country lanes and start to wonder whether there’s something more sinister going on…

Check out our video to see Allen chat about what made shooting In Fear such a different experience, what it was like doing three weeks of night shoots in Cornwall, how filming in December added to the movie’s atmosphere, how director Jeremy Lovering played tricks on his cast, whether he’s wary of going for a drive in the countryside after making the movie, and how watching In Fear still made him jump.

Allen also tells us what he’s enjoyed about being part of life upstairs and downstairs in Downton Abbey, what advice he’d give to his character Tom Branson, the challenges of driving a Ford Model T, what he’d like to see in future episodes, whether we’ll see Tom in the Christmas episode and series 5, whether he’d like to see a new love interest for Tom, saying goodbye to Jessica Brown Findlay and Dan Stevens, how his new film The Imitation Game is going and his role in the film.

In Fear (15) is in UK cinemas on 15 November.
