This week sees fictional radio DJ Alan Partridge burst beyond the confines of our TV screens and into cinemas!
With the side-splittingly funny Alan Partridge: Alpha Papa out on 7 August, Flicks And The City’s Jan Gilbert grabbed the chance for a chat with the film’s writers Neil and Rob Gibbons about their local radio inspiration; their favourite YouTube viral videos including The One Pound Fish song, Kruger National Park crocodile, and lion and giraffe attacks; their fact of the day about the new royal baby; what kind of boss Alan Partridge would be and if they’d be a good assistant to Alan; plus whether they’d be able to broadcast live from a siege.
Check out the video below to see what Neil and Rob had to say! And don’t forget to watch the film’s trailer at the end of this post.
Alan Patridge: Alpha Papa synopsis (out 7 August): When Alan’s radio station, North Norfolk Digital, is taken over by a new media conglomerate, it sets in motion a chain of events that leads to Alan working with the police to defuse a potentially violent siege started by a disgruntled late-night DJ.
